It's Time for Giving Thanks

At this special time of year, we tend to reflect on the past years and all that has given us reason to give thanks.  Family and friends we hold dear in our hearts seem to mean more to us as the seasons move into the autumn and winter holiday seasons.  One of the most important things in my life I will forever be grateful for is my parents buying land and building a home in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. When I was a child,I would long for the days we would be able to come up north.  I would literally count the days until Memorial Day when we opened the cabin for the summer season.  Lucky for us, my father had six weeks vacation and we were able to spend much time in our beloved Northwoods.  These experiences are still something I am grateful for today.

I always wanted to have Thanksgiving in the northwoods.  I felt in my heart this was the place I was truly grateful for.  Shouldn’t you celebrate the day of Thanksgiving in a place like that?

Now, I am fortunate to be able to do just that.  Know what?  It does make the day more special.  Dear friends and  family make the day even more meaningful to us all.

Through the years, family and friends have passed on and the holidays have changed somewhat.  But one thing has remained a constant in our celebration; gratitude for the opportunity to be here in the wonderful Northwoods, especially now during this holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! ~Diane
